About IGE-SRH: IGE-SRH is a youth-led sub-national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of LBQTI individuals who have faced discrimination and exclusion due to their sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, and sexual characteristics. Our mission is to enhance the knowledge, skills, and agency of LBQTI individuals through advocacy, knowledge generation, information sharing, partnership, and capacity building.

Job Overview:

The Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial management and governance functions of IGE-SRH. This position will involve tasks related to financial record-keeping, budget management, compliance, and reporting, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective stewardship of resources in alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
    • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial reports.
    • Support the Finance and Governance Officer in budget planning, monitoring, and forecasting activities to ensure effective allocation and utilization of resources.
    • Process invoices, reimbursements, and other financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Compliance and Governance:
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, donor requirements, and organizational policies, including preparing financial reports and statements.
    • Support the Finance and Governance Officer in conducting regular internal audits and financial reviews to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Grant Management:
    • Assist in the financial management of grants and donor-funded projects, including budget development, expenditure tracking, and reporting to donors.
    • Support the Finance and Governance Officer in preparing grant proposals, budgets, and financial reports in collaboration with program teams.
  • Capacity Building and Support:
    • Provide guidance and support to staff members on financial policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring understanding and adherence across the organization.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs to enhance financial literacy and capacity among team members.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related role, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of IGE-SRH, with a passion for promoting gender equality and sexual reproductive health.

Salary: NGN100,000 to NGN140,000
